Searches in Moscow Region. Security Forces Carry Out Raid Against Jehovah’s Witnesses in Zvenigorod

On December 10, 2025, in the town of Zvenigorod, Moscow Region, operational activities took place from 6 to 9 a.m., at least four addresses involved. Several people were questioned. A criminal case has been initiated against one of Jehovah's Witnesses Aleksandr Paisov. He has been detained.

Investigators from the Investigative Committee, led by Sergey Zagibalov, carried out searches at Paisov's home and that of his mother, 80, as well as in an apartment he rents out. Another house was searched without the owners' knowledge: the lock was broken, traces of people were visible, and a pry bar was left behind in the yard.

Previously, criminal cases had already been initiated in the Moscow region against ten Jehovah's Witnesses. Two believers were acquitted, and four received suspended sentences.
